Music video showings have a been a popular part of many fan conventions for a long time.  This year, The Gathering of the Gargoyles again presents an opportunity for the fans to put their music video ideas on tape (or digital media) for other's enjoyment. 

Music videos are much more than just episode footage put to a song. By taking clips from different scenes and episodes and mixing and timing them with music, they can do just about anything the creator wants: highlight certain portions of a series, tell a story through song, or even parody ideas through wordplay. (For example, a video featuring clips of Elisa and Goliath could vary in a great many ways, depending on whether you timed the shots comically to "Wing Beneath My Wings" or romantically to "Every Breath You Take"). It's up to you to be creative and come up with new ideas!

Rules and Guidelines:

• You may enter as many music videos as you like.
  
• You do not have to register for the convention to enter this contest.
• Your entry must be your own work. Anonymous submissions will not be accepted.  If you submit a video that was not made by you, all of your submissions will be disqualified.
• All entries must contain GARGOYLES content!   We are all really happy that you have a hard drive full of Anime music videos.  Please keep in mind that this is a GARGOYLES Convention and at least 50% of your video must be of Disney's Gargoyles.
• Your video must be set to music.  This may seem obvious, but it's important.
• Each entry must be no less than 30 seconds and no more than 7 minutes.  Your title and end credits do not count towards minimum length.
  
• Do not submit entries that have been previously submitted to The Gathering of the Gargoyles.  We have tons of fresh DVD content, please make fresh videos to go with it.
• Keep it PG-13.  Both the video and the music should be acceptable for family viewing.  It you think your submission could not be played on the radio or basic cable channels, then it is probably inappropriate for this contest.
• Deadline for submissions – in our hands by June 17, 2006.
• All submissions must be accompanied by a letter or e-mail listing your name, complete mailing address, the name of the song used, and the artist.
  

Specifications:

• We will accept submissions by mail on VHS tape, DVD, or electronic media on CD-ROM.  Acceptable electronic formats are: AVI, WMV (Windows Media Player), and MPG (Real Player). 
  
• Submissions by mail should be sent to: The Gathering of the Gargoyles, P.O. Box 18972, Cleveland OH 44118.
• Submissions by e-mail should be sent to: contests@gatheringofthegargoyles.com.  If the electronic file is too big to e-mail, you may upload it to the web and e-mail a link where it can be downloaded. 
  
• Please test your Music Video submission before you turn it in to see if it works.  This goes for both traditional and electronic media.  We will not attempt to troubleshoot submissions that do not play on standard A/V or computer equipment.

Judging:

• Videos will shown at the convention and judged by audience ballot.  Judging categories will be Comedy, Action, and Romance, with an additional award for the overall Best of Show.
  

Notice and Disclaimer:

• The Gathering of the Gargoyles reserves the right to not show submitted music videos for any reason, whether it be due to a violation of any of the rules above, the format being incompatible with our equipment, or the video and/or audio track being of poor quality. 
  
• Your entry will become property of Gathering of the Gargoyles and will not be returned to you.  Please do not send us originals!
