I just paid for my membership. When will I get my stuff?

All items, including con badges, will be waiting for you at the Convention Registration Desk when you arrive at the convention. No items will be mailed out in advance. If you are pre-registered, a pre-printed con badge will be waiting for you, enclosed in a packet containing the convention program book and other useful information. If you plan to buy a membership the day of the con, your badge will be printed when you register. To ensure that con badges are distributed correctly, a photo ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or student ID) or two forms of non-photo ID (such as credit cards both bearing name and signature) may be required to claim your con badge at the Registration Desk.

What is a con badge?

Your con badge is your name tag and proof of your paid membership while you are at the Gathering. It lets the convention staff, convention security, and the hotel staff know that you belong at the convention. Con badges must be worn at all times. Con badges are required for admittance to all convention functions, including the Art Show, the Dealer's Room, the Banquet, and all seminars and workshops. Con badges will be checked at the door for many convention events, so please keep your badge on you at ALL times.

What information will be on my con badge?

The badges will list the "badge name" that you specify when you register. If you did not note a badge name on your registration, your real name will appear on the badge. If you have purchased admission to the banquet, it will be noted on the back of your badge. If you are purchasing a one or two-day membership at the door, badges will list the specific dates for which the badge is valid.

Do I really need to wear my con badge ALL the time?

Yes. Even though you might feel that everyone on the convention staff knows who you are, at a large convention it is nearly impossible for the convention staff, convention security, and hotel staff to keep track of who belongs at the convention and who does not. For everyone's safety, you MUST wear your con badge at all times when you are in the convention area. Anyone found in the convention area without a valid con badge WILL be escorted out by convention security. NO EXCEPTIONS.

What if I lose my con badge?

If you misplace your badge, you can obtain a replacement badge at the Registration Desk. A nominal fee of $2.00 will be charged for printing a replacement badge (covering the cost of badge materials) and ID will be required.

Can I loan or sell my con badge to a friend?

No. Con badges and memberships are non-transferable. Every individual attending The Gathering of the Gargoyles is required to purchase his or her own membership, and will receive his or her own con badge at the Registration Desk. Con badges found in the possession of any person other than the individual named on the badge will be confiscated, and any person found using a con badge not bearing his or her own name WILL be escorted out by convention security.
